A 2022 survey stated seventy percent of U.S. households, or about 90.5 million families, own a pet. However, as more and more Americans are heading back to the office full-time, how will our pets cope with us not being home as often? How will our new work schedules impact our fur babies’ routines?

As the Tech Guru and CEO of Senior Savvy, I educate thousands weekly on the tech skills they need to thrive in today’s digital world. I’ve rounded up this summer’s best pet tech innovations to make your transition and your pets as stress-free as possible.

Pet Tech For Your Back to the Office Transition

Digital Doggie Door – Other than alleviating the fear of intruders, this digital doggie door has plenty of smart uses. If your pet is wearing the SmartKey on his collar and tries to go through the door, radio-frequency technology reads the collar’s unique signal and unlocks the flap.

Tech Toys – One of your pet’s favorite things about you is the treats you dispense. The Tikr toy, which you fill with treats of various sizes before playtime, is powered on a timer. For up  45 minutes, the inner chamber rotates and the treats fall out as the holes align. The 360-degree laser randomly changes patterns; four speeds and four timer settings make for hours of exercise and entertainment for your furry friend. This interactive cat toy is sure to keep your feline entertained for hours.

Cat Litter – The Litter-Robot senses when your cat enters and exits the box. A timer counts down after he or she leaves, and after allowing time for the litter to clump, a Clean cycle begins, sifting and separating the contents before dropping the waste into a carbon-filtered drawer below. For a single-cat household, you only need to empty the drawer once every 7 to 10 days.

Ball Launcher – Encourage playtime with an automatic ball launcher. The ball will shoot out at distances of either 10, 20 or 30 feet when manually loaded into the funnel.

Smart Feeder PetNet is a smart feeder for both dogs and cats. It will alert your device when your pet has been fed or when you need to buy more food. You can of course manually adjust feeding schedules from your laptop or mobile device in real-time, from anywhere. And finally, you can use Petnet to track your pet’s calorie intake.

Pro-tip puppy owners –

Potty Training – This tool is bound to make pet owners’ lives easier, by integrating a treat dispenser into the absorbent potty training pad. When moisture is detected, an internal sensor system wirelessly sends an electronic signal to the treat dispenser.
